Introduction
|
The aim of this
project in phase 3 of the SFB607 was to investigate the allocation of
C- and N-metabolites in beech under the influence of the root pathogen Phytophthora citricola as well as CO2
and ozone.
Therefore labelling with stable isotopes were performed in co-operation
with project B6 (Schnyder; beech - P. citricola - CO2)
respectively B12
(Schloter; lysimeter experiment; beech - P. citricola - ozone)
|
Experiment 1:
Allocation of C- and N- metabolites in beech under the influence of P. citricloa and/or elevated CO2
|
|
Experiment 2:
Allocation of C-metabolites in beech under the influence of ozone
and/or P. citricola .
|
|
Conclusion
|
- Allocation patterns of C- and
N-metabolites in beech were not influenced by elevated CO2.
- P.
citricola infection increased carbon allocation in leaves on
cost of roots.
- P.
citricola infection increased nitrogen allocation in roots on
cost of above ground biomass, manly leaves.
- The effect of ozone on allocation
patters of beech is still under investigation.
